The ClearPath-SCSK model allows you to precisely servo-control position (and velocity) using a software API, programmed in C++ on Windows/Linux or .NET languages (such as C#) on Windows. ClearPath SC can also be controlled using traditional “step & direction” (or quadrature A/B) command signals from a third-party motion controller (in which case, you can use the software API to change parameters, such as torque limits; or read status, such as encoder position). Compared to ClearPath-SCHP models (which are controlled in the same way), the SCSK models have less peak torque, but are a lower price for any given amount of continuous (RMS) shaft torque and power.

Software Control

Use a Windows or Linux PC to send commands and get status from ClearPath. The "Advanced" firmware option includes anti-vibration move profiles, user-defined interrupts, conditional torque limiting, and more.

Step and Direction

One ClearPath input counts steps from your motion controller, the other input determines if the steps are made in the clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. This mode can be used at the same time as Software Control, but eliminates functions that require inputs (e.g., input-triggered moves).

This blower kit (AC powered fan and shroud) provides a significant increase in continuous torque for certain AC-input (integral hp) ClearPath motors. Motor part numbers shown with a “_fan” after them show the increased specifications using this blower. Note that this kit is not IP rated for dust or liquid protection, and needs AC wiring separate from the motor.
