Can Teknic ship my order in less than 3 days?
Possibly.Teknic is usually able to ship 5 of any ClearPath or Fast-ship Hudson motors within three business days (all Build-to-Order motors have a three-week lead time regardless of order volume). We are able to promise this because we keep a stock of semi-finished assemblies for these specific part numbers. Your order is what triggers the final assembly, full test, and shipment of that specific product. This production method allows Teknic to promise a consistent, short lead time for the most popular Hudson servo motor models as well as all ClearPath models.
Depending on the exact manufacturing and order details, we may be able to build the order in less than three days. If that's the case, we won't hold off from shipping earlier. We just can't promise to ship anything in less than three business days. (And remember to add the shipping transit time to estimate the actual arrival date of your order.)
Feature | Description | Basic Version (Standard) | Advanced Version (Optional) |
---|---|---|---|
Jerk-limited positional moves | Make relative or absolute moves with automatic jerk limiting and jerk-derivative limiting for ultra-smooth motion. | ||
Velocity moves | Ramp up or down to user-selected velocities and rotate continuously. Programmable settings control acceleration, jerk (rate of change of acceleration), and jerk derivative for ultra-smooth changes in speed. | ||
Flexible homing routines | Home to a limit switch or hardstop (with gentle, torque-limited hardstop detection). User-defined homing routine can be pre-configured and invoked with one line of code. | ||
Read measured position, velocity, torque, and much more | Full access to real-time status of all motion parameters (more than 30 different status indicators) | ||
Safety shutdowns | Constant, automatic monitoring of a variety of motor operating conditions, and shutdowns as necessary to prevent motor and/or system damage. | ||
Soft limits | Set software end-of-motion limits to prevent accidental crashes (can be used simultaneously with physical limit switches). | ||
Global torque limiting | Programmable limit on the maximum amount of torque. | ||
Automatic brake coil control | Automatically engage a third-party fail-safe brake when an axis shuts down or is disabled. | ||
Group shutdowns | Automatically stop all motion axes simultaneously when any axis has a problem. Also, a global stop input allows non-programmatic simultaneous stopping of all axes using a digital input, button, or switch. | ||
Up to 16 axes per com port | Using low-cost SC Hub boards ($49), create up to 4 "mini-networks" of up to 4 axes each, which can be daisy-chained (distributed or plugged directly into each other without cables) to allow maximum flexibility and minimal wiring. | ||
Robust communication | Innovative hardware and communication design allows high command throughput (over 1,000 commands per second) without using noise-sensitive high-speed circuitry or non-deterministic "crash and retry" protocols. All inputs are optically isolated for even more noise immunity. | ||
Automatic network configuration | No need for setting DIP switches or programming network addresses. Just power up the system and each axis is automatically addressed based on its position in the network. | ||
g-Stop™ anti-vibration move profiles | Motion profile sculpting based on patented anti-vibration technology. Allows the fastest possible moves without exciting mechanical resonances in the machine. Easy to configure, and robust operation even as mechanics wear over time. See video demonstration. | ||
Triggered moves | One or more axes can be configured to start simultaneously upon command or electronic signal for the most precise synchronization requirements. | ||
Head-tail moves | Create two- or three-part move profiles where the beginning and/or the end of the moves are at a different maximum velocity than the middle part of the moves. This is useful for making fast moves with one or two slower segments (e.g., moving past a camera slowly and then moving to a target quickly, or slowly clamping something at the end of a fast move). | ||
Asymmetric moves | Create move profiles with different acceleration and deceleration limits. Often, because of friction (or gravity), an axis can decelerate faster than it can accelerate, and this feature allows faster moves in these cases. | ||
Trigger events at user-defined positions | Get a notification when an axis reaches a certain position (either after the start or before the end of the move) to allow synchronization with other events or processes. | ||
Positive/Negative torque limiting | Independently limit positive torque and negative torque (typically used in clamping applications). | ||
Conditional torque limiting | Automatically limit torque (positive and/or negative torque) when an axis is in a certain positional zone, or based on an electrical signal, or when a move completes. | ||
Attention generation | Automatically generate interrupts based on user-defined events so that you don't have to constantly poll for them. This creates a more responsive and synchronized system. | ||
Position capture | Precisely capture axis position on-the-fly based on an electronic input. |

The NEMA 23 brake only accepts a 3/8" diameter input shaft.
Do you want to change the shaft diameter to 3/8"?
For the front motor face to be IP66K/IP67 rated, the shaft seal is required.
For the front motor flange to be IP66K/IP67 rated, the shaft seal is required. The shaft seal is not available on the selected 1/4" shaft option. Do you want to change the shaft diameter to 3/8" and add the shaft seal option?
The shaft seal option (required for the motor shaft to be IP66K/IP67 rated) is only available with the standard 3/8" shaft diameter. Do you want to change the shaft diameter to 3/8" and add the shaft seal?
The 1/4" shaft diameter is not available with the shaft seal option. Do you want to change the shaft diameter to 1/4" and remove the shaft seal (the motor shaft will then be IP40 rated)?
The standard shaft diameter for NEMA 23 ClearPath motors is 0.375 inch (9.525 mm). This larger diameter provides better radial load capability and better torsional stiffness (and hence better dynamic performance) than the 0.250 inch (6.350 mm) shaft option. In some cases, however, for compatibility with gearheads, brakes, and other mechanical components, a 0.250 inch (6.350 mm) shaft is desirable and offered as an option.
The standard shaft diameter for NEMA 23 ClearPath motors is 0.375 in (9.525 mm).
The standard shaft diameter for NEMA 34 ClearPath motors is 0.50 in (12.70 mm).
For extra protection beyond the standard double-sealed ball bearings, an optional dynamic shaft seal is available. ClearPath's high-quality shaft seal is made with a specially formulated elastomer to provide a minimal compression set, excellent high temperature properties, low friction and wear, and improved chemical resistance.
The motor shaft will be IP66K/IP67 rated with the shaft seal.
For an IP65 rating and extra protection beyond the standard double-sealed ball bearings, an optional dynamic shaft seal is available. ClearPath's high quality shaft seal is spring tensioned and has a PTFE/Polyimide lip that offers excellent high temperature properties while minimizing friction and wear. It also has a metal outer case for increased structural rigidity, and an o-ring on the OD to ensure a quality seal.
The shaft seal is not an option for quarter-inch shaft models. To add a shaft seal, select the 3/8 inch shaft diameter.
For the SDSK, MCPV, and SCSK models, the Enhanced option provides position setting capability of 1/6400th of a revolution. The Regular option is 1/800th. The Enhanced option also increases the available RAS (jerk limiting) settings on the SDSK models.
For the ECSK models, the Enhanced option provides position setting capability of 1/51,200th of a revolution. The Regular option is 1/12,800th.
For the SDSK, MCPV, and SCSK models, the Enhanced option provides position setting capability of 1/32000th of a revolution. The Regular option is 1/4000th. The Enhanced option also increases the available RAS (jerk limiting) settings on the SDSK models.
On the ClearPath-SC series, you can upgrade to the Advanced firmware for about 6-8% more, and get a number of extra features. Click the “Read More” link for a comparison table showing the Basic vs. Advanced firmware features.
